Today is the last day of Oktoberfest and thus the day to find the winner of the Oktoberfest T-shirt. I wrote the names of all 36 participants on a sheet of paper, ...

Then I put them into a beer glass -- finally it was time to fish out a name!

And the winner is Kris Dickinson who has two fabulous blogs -- Nostalgic Collage and A Nostalgic Halloween. If you haven't visited those blogs yet, be sure to do so -- you are in for a treat. Congrats Kris!

I would like to share more Oktoberfest photos with you. This time I chose some photos which show more of the traditional side of the festival. Lots of people wear (more or less) traditional Bavarian clothes when they visit Oktoberfest. It's a recent trend though -- a couple of years ago you would have stand out wearing a Dirndl or Lederhose. In the background of the photo below you see the Bavarian flag -- white and blue.

That's the Ochsenbraterei beer tent.

Waiters and waitresses standing in line to get the food and beer.

A speciality of this place are the oxen which are roasted on a spit. When I was there, Hubert was roasted -- ox # 61, weighing 475 kg.
That's the rest of poor Hubert...

Young women wearing a Dirndl.

Some of the rides and attractions have a lovely vintage look. This angel was part of the facade of the Hexenschaukel (Witch's Seesaw) which is actually called Vekoma Madhouse in English.

Stay tuned for more Oktoberfest photos!
