Oktoberfest Horses

Here comes the horse edition of my visit of Oktoberfest 2011.

The breweries on Oktoberfest usually have a team of horses and a beautifully decorated cart with beer barrels standing near their beer tents.

The trappings are exquisite. Below you see the crown of Hofbräu.

That's the Hofbräu cart.

The flowers were so pretty.

That's the Hacker-Pschorr cart.

Such beautiful horses.

Shiny coat and tail.

Two carts side by side.

The flower bouquet on the Augustiner Bräu cart.

The wonderful horses of the Paulaner brewery.

Those horses are huge.

These horses belong to the Spaten brewery.

A lot of people love to have their photo taken with the horses.

That's a portrait of Stefl, one of the Löwenbräu horses.

I told you that the horses are huge.

The Löwenbrau flower bouquet on the cart.

Some more Oktoberfest photos will follow soon.

  4. Birgit! You keep this up and I'm going to want to move there! Those horses are amazing! And to think it's all about beer...which that, I could live without. ;) When you show off the goodies and the shopping though...well, that I'm on board for! Great photography, as usual! Just keep em coming!

  5. Oh I must agree about those stunning draft horses. I would like a couple grey ones for myself (I wouldn't want one lonely one by himself, right?). I don't think I could afford to house or feed them, but I can dream! I hope they are well-treated.

Really lovely range of colors in those pictures. So nice! I have almost made it to Germany a couple times, but nothing yet. (I took German in college but I fear I have forgotten 98%). One day, perhaps.
