Bad Feilnbach

I recently visited Bad Feilnbach, a little town about 60 km (approximately 38 miles) from Munich (München). If you click on the map below, you get a bigger view and can make out Munich at the bottom right and Bad Feilnbach more in the middle in front of a mountain.

The town is near the Alpes and has a very special charm. There are many beautiful farm houses.

Cows on a pasture.

A restaurant I would like to visit one day.

Spring is definitely here!

The main street with a big chestnut tree on the left.

A billboard advertising a hearty Bavarian Brotzeit (snack).

Another view of the main street with a bank on the left side.

A typical house facade:

Maria mit dem Kinde lieb
uns allen deinen Segen gib.

(Mary with the dear child
give us all your blessing.)

The church.

The town hall.

A Maibaum (maypole).

People enjoying ice-cream on a sunny day. Some girls were wearing traditional costumes.

Another pretty house facade.

A look into a private garden -- so very green!

A sculpture of a person sitting on an apple -- iMonument?

A lovely creek.

Glorious April sunset

One of the last April evenings held a special light show in store.

The sunset was simple beautiful.

Everything was glowing in a rosy, warm light.

The sky seemed to be on fire.

The range of colors was amazing.

This picture (minus the antenna) reminds me of an African sunset as seen on TV.

All that glory -- simply breathtaking!

Spring

A short while after White Easter, spring decided to come to Germany.

The snow hadn't hindered the tulips to grow and thrive.

Some of the tulips glowed in fiery red and yellow.

 Some other beauties.

 Such great colors!

 I love that pink.

The fresh green is such a welcome sight.

Happy Spring!

Blue Skies

Most of April has been somewhat gray, but today the sun was shining.

I took these photos this afternoon while driving home.

I actually just shot a few photos without looking at the camera screen.

I just pointed the camera slight upward to get a few snapshots of the dramatic clouds.

Birds were flying from one tree to the next.

That's spring at its best -- a promise of warmer days!

White Easter

This morning I woke up to an Easter wonderland full of snow. On Christmas this would have been magical. Come to think of it, I even find it magical on Easter. Just have a look at the forsythia covered in fluffy snow.

An almond tree blossom with its white cap.

Pretty tulips.

The snow was almost too heavy for the delicate hyacinth.

Pink tulips.

Easter eggs which I had dyed myself.

Chocolate treats.

A cute bunny.

Chicks.

One of my traditional Easter ornaments -- a wooden bunny.

Another cute bunny.

I wish you a wonderful Easter
and a great spring with no snow!

Three Little Kittens

Mary from Green Paper provided a collage sheet for her March challenge. As always it was fun to create something from the three images she kindly shared.

Lulu was one of the Three Little Kittens.
