Wild Thing

The Three Muses have come up with yet another interesting topic for their challenge blog -- wild things. So what's the ultimate wild thing after all? Somehow, that made me think of Mothman, a creature that was seen in West Virginia in 1966 and 1967.

Doors

The Three Muses have come up with another interesting theme which I simply couldn't resist -- doors. My first image takes you to Taos, New Mexico. I took the photo of a store door and digitally enhanced it.

The second image is another altered photo which I took a couple of weeks ago at the cemetery. I like how the open door is beckoning in the distance, offering a safe haven.

Free fall

At Artarazzi the guest designer Kelly provided one of her photos of an interesting architectural structure. It inspired me to a free fall.

Midsommar

Sweden is celebrating midsommar today. At the local IKEA I made a flower wreath which I later wore on my head. I wish everyone a trevlig midsommar!

Go West Young Mona

By chance I found a new challenge blog called Three Muses which welcomes all art styles. The first challenge is nothing small -- Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Of course, I had to take Mona to the American West.

Trapped in Wonderland

Art On The Darkside has the topic mirrors this week. Naturally, I thought of Alice in Wonderland. For my digital collage I combined two of my photos taken in February and June.

Wish

Mind Wide Open has a new challenge for June. Gail provided a lovely collage image as well as the word prompt "wish."

Kathleen looked out of the window, watching the beautiful dragonfly with its delicate wings. How she wished to have wings like that. She would fly high in the sky and on to all those exotic places out there.

Egypt

Think Monday - Think ATC takes us to Egypt this week. Of course, I had to create an ATC, too.

Hail shower in May

May brought a couple of very hot days -- and thunderstorms. Once it even hailed, but, fortunately, nothing was damaged.

May

A digital collage made from some of my photos taken in the garden and park -- oh, isn't May true bliss?

Zetti moo

Make a moo or two has a lovely theme this week -- zetti style. I decided to give Mr. Poe a make over -- he might have appreciated that.

A walk in the park

A short drive from my place there's a comparatively new park with a creek, trees, bushes, and all sorts of plants.

Yesterday I discovered that several brushes were completely covered with webs.

With the help of a German website about larvae, I found out that it's most likely the larvae of the bird-cherry ermine who did that. In the article it was mentioned that most bushes survive and will grow new leaves later in the year.

Later I came across a female duck looking for her partner and crying out for him. After a while she went in the creek and swam downstream still looking for him.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all mothers get some nice treats today. Last fall's dragonfly or Libelle inspired me to paint a box.

Moreover, I baked a strawberry cake today.

Paris in Spring

"Paris in Spring" was the prompt phrase of Mind Wide Open's May challenge. I used the provided image as well as a couple of extras including one of the blossom photos I took in April.

Whenever Sandrine and Xavier sat close together,
it felt like being in Paris in spring.
