The Itsy Bitsy Spider


This spider currently lives in our garden -- and it isn't that itsy bitsy...

    I bet our Golden Garden Spider is bigger than your not-so-itsy-bitsy spider! The leg span is about 4 inches - not sure what that is in metric - 10 centimeters? Anyway, big for a spider. She's built a beautiful web right outside our glass back door, here in Austin, Texas, US, and we need to be careful to lean to the right when we go out the door so we don't get a faceful of web. She rebuilds her web every 2 or 3 days, reabsorbing the old threads before spinning out the new ones.
