C is for Cinco de Mayo

Isn't it great that this year Cinco de Mayo is on a Thursday? That's perfect for Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday!

As I am always up for a little fiesta, I invited a friend over for food and fun.

My Tex-Mex plates were perfect for the occasion.

Peanuts, tortilla chips, and Hot Tamales -- I was thrilled to find the latter in a supermarket.

Fiesta table.

Thai spring rolls -- not Mexican, but really delicious (and hot).

Pizza -- not Mexican again, but a must when watching Heidi Klum's Germany's Next Topmodel.

And here's dessert -- Crème Brûlée. Not Mexican, but a worthy end to a great evening.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Trust in me

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am around

Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me

(Lyrics of the song the snake Ka sings to Mowgli
in Disney's The Jungle Book)

Joan from Joan's Home Studio sent me the cute snake shown above (which I named Ka) along with some other goodies, as I was one of the winners of her Name the Critters Challenge.

Two new pairs of earrings which I love to wear.

Isn't that ice-skate just wonderful? Perfect for winter!

A couple of awesome charms and pendants.

Beautiful dragonfly and flower beads.

Some more beautiful beads.

Thanks so much for all these treats, Joan -- and, most of all, thanks for your kind words and your friendship.

Some more April photos

I hope you enjoy seeing some more photos I took in April. I picked all the pink ones for Beverly's Pink Saturday. Here you see one of the gorgeous pink tulips.

One evening the sunset was beautiful with lots of pink.

More splendid pink tulips.

Some pink tulips in the background.

This tulip almost looks like a rose.

I just love the tree blossoms.

More beauties!

Do you remember the frizzed tulips of my Easter blog post? Here's a closeup of one of those pink beauties.

Happy Pink Saturday!

B is for Bunny

First of all, I can't believe I missed the start of a new round of Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday. Thus I don't just feature B but also A.
May I introduce you to Ed? He has been a faithful friend for many years.

Here I painted an armadillo with the moon. You just have to set a long exposure time (about three to five seconds) on your camera, focus on a full moon, and gently swing the camera around. It's great fun -- and here is my heavenly Ed.

Now on to this week's letter -- B!

This cute bunny is now the new friend of our neighbors' little daughter. She is 1 1/2 years old and just loves to cuddle with the soft bunny. It was a perfect Easter gift!

Easter

Easter Sunday was a warm and sunny day. The sun falling through my living room window lighted up my Easter bouquet.

The Kokopelli Easter egg I painted myself.

Isn't the willow catkin just beautiful? So soft!

Of course, tulips are a necessity on Easter.

Do you feel watched now? Quite right!

A cute bunny ornament made from shell.

I like the traditional wooden ornaments.

Adorable bunnies hiding between willow catkin twigs.

Cute Easter napkins.

The Easter basket with chocolate bunnies and eggs.

Part of the fun are the vibrant colors.

Isn't that chocolate bunny just sweet?

The day before Easter I dyed some eggs -- great fun!

Delicious Easter bread.

Yummy strawberry cake.

A dramatic spring sky.

A couple of raindrops in the afternoon.

I love natural meadows with lots of daisies.

One of the many tulips in the garden -- a beauty in yellow and red.

Another beauty in dark purple which almost looks like black.

A splendid blossom of the ranunculus bush.

Those pink tulips are frizzed.

They are absolutely gorgeous.

A lovely visitor on Easter Sunday.

So relaxed.

A lovely geranium -- the variety is called Wild Hilde.

Another beauty in pink.

I hope you had a happy and peaceful Easter!
